竹は香川県産の真竹を使用、紙は「阿波和紙」を使用しています。

国内産（香川県丸亀市周辺）の竹の骨を使用し、1本1本が職人さんの手により仕上げられた純国産品の手づくりうちわです。 丸亀市は江戸時代初期から続く、生産量や形の多様さなどを誇る日本一のうちわの産地です。
丸亀うちわは平成9年に、国の伝統的工芸品に指定されております。

Toutsuki Uchiwa
Amabie is a legendary mystic creature who sends rays of light from under the sea to deliver various prophecies including those of pandemics and harvesting conditions. According to the legend, drawing a picture of Amabie brings divine resources to help mitigate pandemics.
The frame is made from a giant timber bamboo grown in Kagawa Prefecture. The leaves are made of Japanese washi paper produced in the Awa region of Tokushima, which is a neighboring prefecture producing traditional handmade paper.

A Master of Traditional Crafts produces each fan using bamboo grown in the Marugame City region.
As the largest Japanese Uchiwa fan producer, it has been recognized for its production capacity and various designs since the Edo period.
In 1997, Marugame Uchiwa fans were registered as Japanese Traditional Crafts by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
