「REFINE（リフィネ）」は、現代の多く抱えている環境問題の一つ、海洋汚染問題を考えて開発したうちわです。丸亀うちわの元祖、渋うちわで使用する網を、不要になって処分する漁網を再利用することで実現しました。「REFINE（リフィネ）」の由来は、Reuse Fishing Net の頭文字から構成した造語です。Refine（不純物を取り除く・浄化する）などの意味も併せ持っております。
伝統工芸士が心を込めて仕上げたうちわです。
丸亀市は江戸時代初期から続く、生産量や形の多様さなどを誇る日本一のうちわの生産地です。丸亀うちわは平成9年に、国の伝統的工芸品に指定されております。

“REFINE” is developed with consideration for the problem of marine pollution (one of the many environmental problems that we have today).This is reinforced by a Fishing nets which no longer needed and is disposed."REFINE" is a coined word composed of the acronym of Reuse Fishing Net. It also has the meaning of refine (removing and purifying impurities).
This is made by a traditional craftsman with all his heart. Marugame City, the largest Uchiwa-producting district in Japan, is famaus for its amount of production and variation of design since the Edo period. In 1997, Marugame Uchiwa were registered as Japanese Traditional Crafts by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
