一つ一つ、伝統工芸士によって丁寧に仕上げられたこのうちわは、丸亀市の豊かな伝統と技術が生きています。丸亀市は江戸時代からうちわの生産で知られ、日本一の生産量を誇る地域です。アートとしても楽しめる丸亀うちわは、平成9年に国の伝統的工芸品に指定されています。

Made with care by a traditional craftsman, this uchiwa embodies the rich tradition and skill of Marugame City, known for its long history in fan production. With the largest output in Japan, Marugame has been celebrated for its unique designs since the Edo period. In 1997, Marugame Uchiwa were registered as Japanese Traditional Crafts by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
