丁寧に一つ一つ仕上げられたこのうちわは、丸亀市の豊かな伝統と技術が感じられます。丸亀市は江戸時代からうちわの生産で知られ、その生産量は日本一。アートを楽しむアイテムとしても注目され、平成9年には国の伝統的工芸品としての地位を確立しています。

With the largest output in Japan, Marugame has been recognized for its exceptional designs since the Edo period. In 1997, Marugame Uchiwa was registered as Japanese Traditional Crafts by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
