「MU159 丸亀うちわ ベジタブル紙 メロン」は、廃棄される野菜や植物を素材にした「ベジタブル紙」を使用した独自のデザインが特徴です。この可愛らしいうちわは、夏の暑さをしっかりと和らげるだけでなく、環境に優しいという趣旨も兼ね備えています。

職人の手によって一つ一つ丁寧に仕上げられたこのうちわは、丸亀市の伝統的な技術が詰まっています。丸亀市は江戸時代からうちわ生産で知られ、確かな品質で日本一の生産量を誇る地域です。アートとしても楽しめるこの丸亀うちわは、平成9年に国の伝統的工芸品として登録されています。

Crafted with care by skilled traditional artisans, this uchiwa reflects the rich tradition and craftsmanship of Marugame City, which has been renowned for its long history of fan production. With the largest output in Japan, Marugame has celebrated its exceptional craftsmanship since the Edo period, and in 1997, Marugame Uchiwa was officially recognized as a Japanese Traditional Craft by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
