職人によって一つ一つ丁寧に仕上げられたこのうちわは、丸亀市の豊かな伝統と技術が息づいています。丸亀市は江戸時代からうちわ生産が盛んで、日本一の生産量を誇る地域であり、アートとしても楽しめるこの作品は、平成9年に国の伝統的工芸品として認定されています。

Crafted with care by skilled traditional artisans, this uchiwa embodies the rich history and craftsmanship of Marugame City, which has been renowned for its long-standing fan production. Recognized for having the largest output in Japan, Marugame has celebrated its exceptional craftsmanship since the Edo period, and in 1997, Marugame Uchiwa was officially designated as a Japanese Traditional Craft by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
